Just focus on your successes (and be glad we don't have to grow all our food for the winter like Ma Ingalls!).

Thanks for sharing!Jami @An Oregon Cottagehttp://www.anoregoncottage.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3868914395249885454.post-8530646034349159602010-07-28T10:33:15.083-07:002010-07-28T10:33:15.083-07:00I am sorry your cukes aren't doing well, the ...I am sorry your cukes aren't doing well, the four plants I had are dead now. I reseeded them and they sprouted but are still tiny. I may have to do without cukes this year. I have spent much money on new soil, the good stuff and we get so much rain each day, tropical downpours, that the new soil is just washed into the creek.. I have bricks around the garden to prevent this..hopeless! Oh I forgot about the bugs and critters, snails,, the list is endless..
Let me go look at your garden photos and make believe it's mine...
Nice
Sandy
thewondersofdoing@blogspot.comSandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07652526316321305796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3868914395249885454.post-68257847793854038422010-07-27T10:00:46.222-07:002010-07-27T10:00:46.222-07:00Your garden is gorgeous! (By too cold, I mean it needs to be at least 60 degrees at night for the cukes to grow and develop, and that goes for melons as well. If needed, you can cover them with plastic pipe hoops and clear plastic to warm it up at night, then open during the day) Overwatering can sometimes cause yellowed leaves. I found this link from a plant pathologist at North Dakota State University that has some tips for growing cukes:
http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/pubs/plantsci/hortcrop/pp656w.htm
Hope this helps a bit!Athena at Minerva's Gardenhttp://www.minervasgarden.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3868914395249885454.post-90709385862738189302010-07-27T08:00:35.165-07:002010-07-27T08:00:35.165-07:00Your garden is really looking good!
