lunar eclipse, fall soccer, playground fun

 Not an amazing photo, but I had fun trying to capture the lunar eclipse.

 Cedar had a great season, playing fall soccer. Finley started the season too, but had to take an extended break after breaking his arm roller skating. :\

 Elsa spent a lot of time reading books, playing with Play Mobils or convincing her parents to take her to the playground during soccer games. ;)

first day of school

 The dreaded first day of school. ;) Our family is never ready, but our boys were excited to see their friends & start their new classes. This mama could've slept in for at least another month. But alas, time for school. :] Cedar is starting first grade & Finley is a third grader! Such big kids! It's also Cedar's first year of all day school. He's been handling it like a pro, but that first week was pretty exhausting. :P

cedar rides a two wheeler

Cedar learned to ride a two wheeler at the end of August. We knew he had it in him, but he was so nervous about taking off the training wheels or letting Dad let go. After spending a day with no pedals, we could see his balance improve immensely! We put the pedals back on & he figured it out right away. Two other neighbors that are Cedar's age saw him figure it out & decided they needed to figure it out too! Now they can ride together & it's been such a great activity for our busy kids. Way to go, Cedar!

spring soccer for cedar

What a great season! Cedar played spring soccer with the same coach & many of the same players as he had during fall soccer. He improved this season & scored several goals during his games! We love watching this boy run super fast when he goes for the ball. He doesn't back down & sticks with it! Way to go, Cedar!

After his last game, his team (the Green Machines!) celebrated with pizza, popsicles & medals. It was a beautiful, sunny day! The perfect end to the season.

cedar's early mario birthday party

 We celebrated Cedar's 6th birthday with a Mario party the weekend before his actual birthday. He's been dreaming up this party since we were in the planning stages of Finley & Cohen's Harry Potter party. :)

I took these pictures before the party started, then came the final down pour of the day & all the food had to be rushed inside. I was pretty bummed, but we still managed to keep the party in the backyard & it all worked out.

 The badges, mustaches & crowns were a hit!

 The Boo balloons came out of Finley's creative mind. :)

 Love these 4 so much!

 I made a pull-string pinata for the first time. The birthday boy felt pretty special to be the only one to pull the string! :)
