coming home

Before leaving the hospital, we took a few photos with our new addition. It felt strange to be wearing my regular clothes & to be out of the hospital gown, but I was feeling ready to go home. I remember feeling so much more anxious when we were taking newborn Finn home. It's nice to have that experience under our belts...we're so much more prepared this time!

Cedar with Mama & Dad
His weight had dropped down to 7 lbs. 2 oz. It's normal for babies to lose weight during the first few days of life. We'll be going in to see Cedar's pediatrician this week to make sure he starts gaining weight again.

He is so mellow & sleepy all the time - I know he's only 3 days old, but he seems much calmer than Finn was as a newborn. We'll see if that lasts...

This is one of Cedar's favorite positions to sleep in...I think it's one of my favorites too. :)

Dad & Cedar
We have both had a really hard time calling Cedar by his own name - we keep trying to call him Finn. Amazing that we're already mixing up their names!

We love our cuddles.

We expected Cedar's first car ride to be a little rough. He fussed when we strapped him into his seat but then...

...he didn't make a peep the whole drive home.
This little guy really is pretty mellow. :)

A quick stop at Aunt Gretchen's to borrow her pump.

We had to make the same stop on the way home from the hospital with Finn & we have a nearly identical photo of us with Finn in the car seat. :)

We made it home! So strange to have a new little person living in our home. Soon, it will seem so natural.

Finn is so excited to have Baby Cedar home. He loves his little brother SO much. He does amazingly well with him & just needs reminders to be gentle - as any two year old would. :) He asks to hold him, hug him, kiss him & just to see him. He smiles SO big & talks in a tiny baby voice. It's pretty great!

Sleepy boys in dino jammies. Cedar is wearing a new hat from Mummi & Pappa & newborn jammies (for 5-8 pounders) from his Great-Aunt Deanna. :)
